Consona N5S Overview
The Consona N5S belongs to Mindray’s Consona N5 series of color Doppler ultrasound systems; compare it with the Mindray Consona N5 diagnostic ultrasound system. Built on the ZST+ platform, its basic three-probe configuration includes a standard imaging kit and application packages for general, women’s health, cardiac and vascular work. ZST+ imaging platform
The Consona N5S runs on Mindray’s ZST+ platform with Multi-Pipe Signal Processing, Advanced Acoustic Acquisition, Dynamic Pixel Focusing and Octal-Beam image processing. Image-enhancement technologies include:
- Tissue Harmonic Imaging (THI) and Phase Shift Harmonic Imaging (PSHI™)
- iBeam™ spatial compounding and iClear® speckle suppression
- Frequency Compounding Imaging (FCI) and Tissue Specific Imaging (TSI)
- HD-Scope, Echoboost, and trapezoid imaging with independent B-Steer and Color ROI-Steer on linear transducers
- iTouch+ one-button image optimization and iZoom™ full-screen expansion
Doppler and flow imaging
The standard imaging kit covers B, M, Color M, Color, PW, Power and Directional Power modes with HPRF. CW continuous-wave Doppler and a basic TDI module (TVI/TEI/TVM/TVD) are included in the standard application package. For flow visualization it offers HR Flow, Glazing Flow and Smart Track automatic vessel tracking, along with B/Color/PW real-time triplex and dual live display.
Standard application packages
The standard application package includes abdomen, obstetrics, gynecology, cardiac, vascular, small parts, urology, pediatrics, nerve and emergency medicine packages. Standard advanced tools include:
- Liver and abdomen: Smart HRI (automatic hepato-renal ratio), Strain Elastography, UWN contrast imaging
- Vascular: Auto IMT, R-VQS vessel stiffness analysis
- Cardiac: Auto Trace for PW, TEI index, Z-score, Free Xros M (up to 3 lines) and Free Xros CM (requires basic TDI)
- Women’s health: Smart OB, Smart NT, IVF reporting, Smart 3D free-hand imaging
- General workflow: iScape® panoramic view, Smart Bladder, iNeedle needle-visibility enhancement, iWorks auto workflow protocols, iScanHelper training assistant
Data, connectivity and workflow
The basic configuration includes a 512 GB on-board hard disk, 6 USB ports, HDMI, VGA, S-Video and Ethernet, a built-in wireless adapter and a built-in DVR module. Software includes iStation® patient information management, the patient reporting system, Raw Data processing, Qsave, DICOM Basic and DICOM Worklist, MedSight and MedTouch for Android/iOS devices, u-Link and voice annotation. iCompare displays imported DICOM images (CT/MRI/X-ray) alongside live ultrasound.
Optional upgrades
Optional upgrades include 4D real-time imaging, iLive, Color 3D, iPage+, SCV+, Smart Face, Smart Volume, Stress Echo, AutoEF, TT QA, TDI-QA, contrast QA, myocardial contrast, LVO, R-IMT, CPP, V-Mapping, Smart Hip, Smart Trace, iVocal, and additional DICOM modules (MPPS, Query/Retrieve, structured reports). Hardware options include an ECG module, 4G module, external DVD, gel warmer, footswitches, barcode scanners and a 1 TB hard disk.
