MX3S Overview
The Mindray MX3S is a laptop-style color Doppler ultrasound system designed to go where patients are: outpatient rooms, wards, emergency areas and outreach clinics. It combines ZST+ image processing with a full general-imaging software suite covering abdomen, obstetrics, gynecology, cardiac, small parts, urology, vascular, pediatrics, nerve and emergency and critical care. Portable by design
- Magnetic charging with an all-day battery solution; a built-in lithium battery is standard, and U-Bank battery packs (2 or 4 cells) are available as options
- High-definition integrated screen: a 15.6-inch high-resolution LED display with a wide tilt range, so operators of different heights can find a comfortable viewing angle
- Fully sealed control panel that is easy to clean and disinfect between patients
- Touch adjustment controls and backlit keys for quick, efficient operation
- Lightweight build for carrying between rooms, plus cart options for fixed workstations: the MT1 multi-function cart is supplied, and the MT3A cart is optional
- Two probe connectors for switching between transducers during an examination
Image quality on the ZST+ platform
The MX3S uses Mindray’s ZST+ platform with channel-data processing, domain scanning and full-field dynamic focusing, combining image algorithms with probe technology to help clinicians obtain clear images in a shorter scan time. Standard image tools include:

Built-in learning
iScanHelper teaching software comes with every MX3S, giving new users on-system scanning guidance and reference content to build confidence across abdominal, thyroid, breast, carotid, renal and cardiac scans.
Records, storage and connectivity
Each system includes a 256 GB solid-state drive (1 TB optional), USB 3.0 with Type-C, HDMI output, a network port and a wireless network card. iStation™ manages patient records, with cine review, Qsave preset saving, Raw Data processing and English patient reports. u-Link provides instant image access, and DICOM Basic with DICOM Worklist is standard. MPPS, Query/Retrieve and structured reports for OB/GYN, vascular, cardiac, breast and abdomen are available as DICOM options.
Two-probe or three-probe package
Both packages share the same main unit, imaging platform and application suite. The two-probe package includes the C5-2m convex and L12-3m linear probes. The three-probe package adds the P4-2m phased array probe for cardiac and transcranial work, and also includes CW continuous-wave Doppler, free anatomical M-mode and curved anatomical M-mode as standard. In the two-probe package, these are available as options.

1. What is the Mindray MX3S?
The MX3S is a portable color Doppler ultrasound system from Mindray, built on the ZST+ platform with a 15.6-inch high-definition display, magnetic charging and a fully sealed control panel. It covers general imaging, women’s health, cardiac, vascular and point-of-care examinations.
2. Which examinations can each MX3S probe cover?
The C5-2m convex probe covers abdomen, OB/GYN, subpleural lung, urology, small parts (except ophthalmic) and peripheral vascular scans. The L12-3m linear probe covers small parts, peripheral vascular, subpleural lung, pediatric and abdominal scans. The P4-2m phased array, included in the three-probe package, adds cardiac and transcranial imaging.
3. Which package should I choose?
Choose the two-probe package for general abdominal, small parts and vascular work. Choose the three-probe package if you need cardiac or transcranial imaging: it adds the P4-2m probe, CW Doppler and anatomical M-mode as standard.
4. How is the MX3S charged, and is it easy to clean?
The MX3S uses magnetic charging and a built-in lithium battery, and optional U-Bank battery packs extend its capacity for all-day use. Its fully sealed control panel can be wiped down and disinfected between patients.
5. Which smart measurement tools are available?
Automatic bladder measurement, automatic IMT identification and Smart 3D are standard. Smart HRI, R-IMT, Smart OB, Smart NT, Smart Face, TDI analysis and automatic B-line detection are available as options. Smart Calc and Smart Track are also available as options.
